Our Story

Wholesome Tummies is a fresh food company on a mission to provide access to fresh, nutritious, and exciting foods for every child, everywhere.  We are revolutionizing the lunch experience in schools across America through our grass-roots franchise, WT Cafe.  Join our movement today and lead the change in your community!

As busy moms ourselves, we found we had a real need for quick and easy school lunches, but felt we had a responsibility to provide our children with the right foods. Prior to the launch of Wholesome Tummies in 2007, an option that combined the two simply did not exist. So it was out of necessity and our belief that the foods our children eat should nourish their growing minds and bodies that we were inspired to start our company.

In terms of kids and the foods they eat, North American society seems to have gotten off track somewhere.

Childhood obesity rates have skyrocketed, and the incidence of type 2 diabetes in our youth is higher than ever before. Blame the media, the fast-food industry, the hectic pace of today’s world – it doesn’t matter. The fact is, the time for change is now.

It’s simple. Kids need good food in order to grow. Their young, active bodies are hungry for nutrients. Their developing minds and muscles are fueled by fresh, wholesome ingredients. And still, most commercially available foods for children sorely lack the nutrition they require. It is Wholesome Tummies’ mission to change that. Our goal is to provide every child with the healthy foods they need.

We will do this by making nutritious meals available to all children in the places they live and learn, and by making these meals fun, kid-centric and appealing.

We believe that good nutrition is critical to our children’s development, and that healthy eating habits established early can help pave the way to lifelong health. We believe that by preparing healthy foods in creative ways, our children will discover the joys of fresh, natural foods and choose them consistently over less-healthy alternatives.
